Contemplating, Asaphic

give ear, my people, my law;

Stretch out your ear to sayings of my mouth. I open my mouth with proverb; I utter enigmas from aforetime, Which we have heard, and we know them, And our fathers, they have recounted to us.

We shall not suppress from their sons,

Recounting to next generation praises of Yahweh, And His strength and His marvelouß that He has done.

For He set up testimony in Jacob,

And He placed law in Israel,

Which He enjoined our fathers

To make them known to their sons,

That next generation may know,

sons shall be born;

They shall rise and recount to their sons. Thus they shall place their confidence in Elohim, And they shall not forget activities of El, And His instructions shall they preserve.

Then they shall not become like their fathers, generation stubborn and rebellious, generation had neither established its heart, Nor was its spirit faithful El.

sons of Ephraim, weaponed archers,

They turned in day of attack.

They not keep covenant of Elohim,

And in His law they refused to walk.

They forgot His activities

And His marvelous that He had shown them.

front of their fathers He had performed marvel, In land of Egypt, field of Zoan:

He rent sea and caused them pass,

And He made waters stand up like waterspout.

He guided them with cloud by day,

And all the night with light of fire.

He rent rocks in wilderness

And let them drink as abyss abundantly.

He brought forth floods from crag,

And He made water descend like streams.

Yet they continued still to sin against Him, To rebel Supreme in arid.

They probed El in their heart

By requesting food for their soul.

So they spoke against Elohim; they said, Is El able to arrange table in wilderness?

Behold, He smote rock, and waters gushed, And watercourses, they overflowed, But is He able give bread?

Or He prepare meat for His people?

Wherefore Yahweh heard, and He was enraged, And fire, it was ignited against Jacob, And indeed anger, it ascended against Israel.

For they not believe in Elohim, And they not trust in His salvation.

Yet He enjoined skies above,

And doors of heavens He opened.

He rained on them manna to eat,

And grain of heavens He gave them.

Each ate bread of sturdys;

He sent provision to them, to satisfaction.

He made east journey in heavens, And He drove south by His strength.

So He rained meat on them like dust,

And winged flyer like sand of seas.

And He cast within His camp,

Round about His tabernacle.

They ate and surfeited exceedingly,

And He brought their yearning to them.

they were not alienated from their yearning; Their food still in their mouth, When anger of Elohim, it ascended against them; He killed stoutest of them, And choices of Israel He cut.

In all this they still sinned

And believed not in His marvelouß.

So He ended their days in failure,

And their years in panic.

Whenever He killed them, then they sought after Him, And they returned and msought early El.

Then they remembered that Elohim their Rock, And El Supreme, their Redeemer.

Yet they entice Him with their mouth

And lie to Him with their tongue.

Their heart, it not established before Him, And they were not faithful to His covenant.

Yet He compassionate;

He made shelter depravity, And He not bring ruin; He acted many to reverse His anger, And He not rouse all His fury.

He remembered that they flesh,

wind going is not returning.

How they defied Him in wilderness; They grieved Him in desolation.

They were turning back and probing El, And Holy of Israel they set mark.

They not remember His hand:

day when He ransomed them from foe,

When He placed His signs in Egypt, And His miracles in field of Zoan.

He turned their waterways to blood,

So they drink their flowings no.

He sent mixture among them, and it devoured them, And frog, and it ruined them.

He gave their crop to beetle, And their labor to locust.

He killed their vine with hail,

And their mulberrys with sleet.

He closed their livestock to hail, And their cattle to siroccos.

He sent upon them heat of His anger, Rage and indignation and distress, mission of messengers of evils, aligned track for His anger; He not keep back their soul from death, And He closed their life to plague.

Then He smote every firstborn in Egypt,

beginning of virility in tents of Ham.

But He made His people journey like flock, And He led them like drove in wilderness.

He guided them, in trust, and they were not afraid, Yet the sea covered their enemies.

Thus He brought them to His holy territory, This hill His right had acquired.

He drove out nations before them,

And He allocated them allotment by line.

He enabled Israel’s tribes tabernacle in their tents.

Yet they probed and defied Elohim Supreme, And His testimonies they not keep.

They were turned away and treacherous like their fathers; They were warped like deceptive bow.

They provoked Him vexation with their high-places, And with their carvings they made Him jealous.

Elohim heard, and He was enraged, And He utterly rejected Israel.

Then He abandoned tabernacle of Shiloh,

tent He had made tabernacle among humanity.

He sent His strength to captivity,

And His beauty in hand of foe.

He closed His people to sword, And with His allotment He was enraged.

Fire devoured their choice,

And their virgins had no nuptial song.

Their priests fell by sword,

Yet their widows not lament.

Then Yahweh awoke as sleep, Like master jubilant from wine.

He smote His foes backward; He gave them eonian reproach.

He |rejected tent of Joseph,

And tribe of Ephraim He not choose.

Yet He chose tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which He loves; And He built His sanctuary like heights, Like earth that He founded for eon.

He chose David, His servant,

And He took him from folds of flock;

From following ewes, He brought him

To shepherd Jacob, His people,

And Israel, His allotment.

So he shepherded them in integrity of his heart, And by understanding of his palms, he guided them.
