´Welcome home dear Jackson, oh welcome home´, said she.
F#7 H
´Last night my daughter Mary lay dreaming of thee´.

´How´s full up, Jackson?´ ´Very poor´ sais he.
´I lost all my money, while sailing on the sea.
fetch your daughter Mary & bring her down to me.
We´ll talk & be merry until three.´

´Mary is not home, nor has she been today.
And if she were at home, Jack, she´d not let you stay.
Mary´s very rich now & you are very poor
& if she were at home, Jack, she´d show you to the door.´

Jackson being weary, he hung down his head,
asking for a candle to light his way to bed.
´Our beds are full of strangers & have been all this week
& so then for your lodging, you´ll have to seek.´
